Without my family around, I was afraid of putting all the responsibility for what happened on my husband, while I was focused on the birth of our first child. She guided us during the pregnancy, calmly and in detail about how everything would happen and her role to be played. She listened with an open heart to our fears and desires regarding this experience, which was the most surreal of our lives. She pointed out and showed the possible paths in each situation. For me, being a mother for the first time, Fabiana was the mother I wanted so much by my side with words of encouragement the night before the birth, and also the friendly sister who offered her shoulder the day after. She spent the morning with me at the hospital, and was the first to visit us when we went home. She was the strength we needed, at all times. Assertive, professional and very human. For reasons beyond our control, it was not possible for her to participate in the birth, as a cesarean section was necessary. But she was there, she was present anyway.
